Gas Industry Expert, OAPEC
has more than 20 years’ experience in the gas Industry. He started his career as a gas engineer in 2004 at Petrobel company (one of Eni's joint ventures in Egypt), and held several roles from field operations to production planning until held the position of production department manager.
Since 2013, he joined the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), in Kuwait. He acts as the organization’s gas/hydrogen expert who is responsible for developing and reflecting OAPEC views and insights on hydrogen as well as the gas and LNG developments regionally and globally. Mr. Moati also represents OAPEC in the UN Group of Experts on Gas in Geneva.
Mr. Moati has received several global awards and honours. In 2021, he was awarded “The rising Star Global Energy Award” from S & P Global Platts in New York, USA.
Mr. Moati holds a MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in Italy and a MBA diploma in Project Management.
